Mt. View and Centennial will host the Boys Varsity District Tournament on February 13, 16, 20, 23, 24, and 26. Link to the bracket below for times and locations. February 13th games will be played at the 6, 7, and 8 seeds site.
The Timberline Varsity boys finished the regular season in 3rd place and will begin District play on Tuesday, February 16th at 7:30 pm at Centennial High School. The wolves will look to redeem an earlier loss to Rocky Mountain. Rocky Mt. Defeated Caldwell on Saturday in the play-in game and will be the 6th seed.
The wolves defeated Rocky Mountain in the first round of the District Tournament on Tuesday night, 65-57. The wolves came out in the third quarter, down by 2, and reclaimed the lead by going on a 9-0 run at the end of the 3rd and beginning of the 4th. They never looked back.
The boys basketball team suffered it's worse loss of the season at the hands of the Vallivue Falcons on Saturday night, 34-57, in the semifinals of the district tournament. Poor shooting plagued the Wolves as they shot 27% for the game.
Tuesday night, the boys basketball team did not show up until the 2nd quarter after spotting Centennial a 22-5 lead. The recovered to tie the game in the 4th quarter and send it to overtime, but Centennial hit a shot with 2 seconds left to win the game and send Timberline to the 5th place game against Borah on Wednesday.
The wolves followed the same slow start against the lions, falling behind by as many as 14 points in the first half. They fought their way back to take the lead in the 4th quarter, but a technical foul with the game tied at 60 and only 2 seconds left, put the Lions up for good and ended the boys season. It was a tremendous season and the boys fought hard the entire way.
